Lodi’s historic old-vine Zinfandel sites contribute the largest portion of this blend, along with fruit from Mendocino County and San Luis Obispo. Warm afternoons in Lodi enhance the berry flavors while fruit from the cooler coastal regions bring softer characteristics and balance.

In the bold tradition of 1000 Stories, Batch 89 was aged in French and American oak barrels, then finished in aged bourbon barrels. Our Zinfandel Batch 88 is light to medium bodied with a soft tannin structure and lengthy finish.

The layered flavors of Zinfandel coupled with our bold barrel ageing method result in notes of strawberry compote, raspberry, caramel, sage, vanilla bean, and white chocolate.

1,000 Stories is produced in small batches, much like premium bourbon. Select parcels of Zinfandel were sourced from Mendocino County, some of which came from vineyards with family histories dating back to the 1880’s. Batch #4 is the first release of the 2014 vintage and once again Mendocino Zinfandel plays a big role in the blend with classic old vineyards such as Sargentini and Rucker vineyards. Head trained and dry farmed, these vineyards give nice raspberry fruits. Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel also makes a big impact on the blend in Batch #004.
