1000 Stories Bourbon Barrel-Aged Zinfandel Batch #3 has a deep, rich purple color. Intense red fruits are on the nose with black pepper spice and a touch of cloves and dried herbs.

Batch #4 is the first release of the 2014 vintage and once again Mendocino Zinfandel plays a big role in the blend with classic old vineyards such as Sargentini and Rucker vineyards. Head trained and dry farmed, these vineyards give nice raspberry fruits. Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel also makes a big impact on the blend in Batch #004. Batch 55 embodies an opulent vintage, which saw its fruit grow amid lush rainfall and balmy temperatures. Batch 58 is a release from 2017, a vintage characterized by a warmer-than-usual climate, which allowed the grapes to ripen to their signature richness. Baked fig, black currant, cinnamon and clove bound from the glass in a mosaic of aromas, segueing to a silken and spiced palate of blueberry compote, toffee and pipe tobacco.

Batch 59 is a release from 2017, a vintage characterized by a warmer-than-usual climate, which allowed the grapes to ripen to their signature richness.  Batch 59 is a full-bodied, rich wine with ripe fruit notes of dried cherry and bramble. A thread of vanilla spice, mocha and butterscotch hints at the character of our older bourbon barrels.

This batch features rich cherry and boysenberry fruit highlighted by warm baking spice and dried plum, fig and date aromas, almost reminiscent of an Italian Amarone. This Zinfandel batch features rich, jammy fruit with concentrated spice framing red and black berry fruit highlighted by warm baking spices like cloves and cinnamon. The warm spice mingles with vanilla and charred sugar notes from aging in the bourbon barrels.

Our Zinfandel Batch 86 is bursting with red fruit aromas typical of Zinfandel – strawberry, raspberry and cherry fill the glass. Batch 86 spent more time aging in Bourbon barrels than most of our Zinfandels and it shows in the profile: sweet components like caramel, toffee and also some dry herb and spice notes are prominently displayed.
